Krista Trounce is a Senior Project Manager who has been part of the Intera team for 13 years. Ms. Trounce received a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering/Water Resources from the University of Waterloo, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario. Ms. Trounce has extensive experience in the performance and management of Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments, Designated Substances Audits and Asbestos Surveys of residential, commercial, industrial, and parkland properties for private sector clients as well as all levels of government. Ms. Trounce has completed several investigations and remediation programs for sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, including on-going monitoring of hydrocarbon plumes for the assessment of natural attenuation. Other projects completed include the design and implementation of engineered systems such as pump & treat, extraction, biopiles, and injection galleries for the remediation of chlorinated solvents and hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater. She is involved in the completion of hydrogeological assessments and environmental monitoring for active and historic waste disposal sites, as well as municipal water supplies, under MOE Certificates of Approval.
A significant component of Ms. Trounce’s current work is the completion of Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments. She has completed risk assessments for sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons within the Ottawa area, under both federal and provincial risk assessment processes. The development and implementation of remediation and risk-management measures to ensure the protection of human health and the environment is a primary focus for Ms. Trounce.
