Expert Review
Programs for the safe disposal of radioactive waste are generally supported by complex site characterization activities and models. The validity of such activies and models is improved through review by and input of experts in the field. Based on their decades-long involvement in radioactive waste management programs around the world, our senior engineers and geoscientiests are routinely called upon to provide expert review. Examples of such work include:
- Evaluation of Hydrogeology Research Techniques and Technology for Radioactive Waste Management Programs, for Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB)
- Review of Selected Hydrogeologic and Geophysical Characterization Methods for Intact Crystalline Rocks, for AECB
- Review of Summary and Primary Reference Documents on the Environmental Impact Statement for Disposal of Canada's Nuclear Fuel Waste, for Nuclear Programs Division of Environment Canada
- Assembly of Geoscience Review Panel for AECL’s Revised EIS for Geologic Disposal of Radioactive Waste in the Canadian Shield, for AECL
- Compilation and Review of Geoscientific Data on Deep Underground Mines in the Canadian Shield<, for AECB
- Evaluation of Groundwater Tracers for Nuclear Fuel Waste Management Studies
