From pond hockey, to hydro-electric power, to Niagara Falls, water resources in Canada are central to our health, economy and culture. Canada has water in abundance, and we use it accordingly (per capita, we’re the second largest users of water in the world). Like so many natural resources, however, there is increasingly a problem of distribution, even in Canada, and especially in our most populated places, like south-western Ontario. In places where groundwater is relied upon for supply, the issue of groundwater degradation by agricultural or industrial contaminants puts additional strain on our supply. Intera helps our clients in the water resources sector mainly through the evaluation of quantity and quality of groundwater resources, and through the development of measures to protect this valuable resource.
From pumping tests to determine the quantity and quality of water supplied by an aquifer, to the development of regional-scale groundwater flow models to delineate wellhead protection areas, to the assessment of water budgets within sub-watersheds, Intera has the expertise to collect and make the most of the data, and to provide truly meaningful results. Specific services include:
>> GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER SOURCE PROTECTION STUDIES
>> AQUIFER CHARACTERIZATION, REGIONAL GROUNDWATER STUDIES
